Nací para hacer matemática, cree la gente por ahí; y es cierto, mi primera aproximación a cualquier tarea es lógica, científica. Así es como en general pienso, con tranquilidad y frialdad. Y sin embargo, la razón por la que nunca me encuentro sentada frente a un papel haciendo cuentas (¡por suerte!) es que cada vez que lo intento mi imaginación desenfrenada viene a alborotarlo todo. Porque la realidad es que (¡shhh… es un secreto!) nací para imaginar. Y descubrir y valorar este «don» me ha llevado muchísimo tiempo.
I was born to do mathematics, think the people out there; and it is true, my first approach to any task is logical, scientific. This is how I generally think, calmly and coldly. And yet, the reason I never find myself sitting in front of a piece of paper doing math (thankfully!) is that every time I try it, my unbridled imagination comes to scramble everything. Because the reality is that (shhh… it’s a secret!) I was born to imagine. And discovering and appreciating this «gift» has taken me a long time.
Desde el momento en que empecé a valorizar mi imaginación que parecía una traba, la posibilidad de la escritura apareció en mi cabeza. Al principio, sí, estaba el terror a la hoja en blanco pero luego fue cediendo. Ahora lo que me atemoriza es no tener tiempo suficiente para escribir todo lo que quiero. Aunque con claros nexos con la pintura que hago, mis temas preferidos para escribir están relacionados con lo macabro siempre en un tono de sutil realismo. From the moment I began to value my imagination, which seemed like a lock, the possibility of writing appeared in my head. At first, yes, there was the terror of the blank page but then it gave way. Now what scares me is not having enough time to write everything I want. Although with clear links to the painting I do, my favorite subjects to write are related to the macabre, always in a tone of subtle realism.
